The Story Behind Barwara Kothi—Our Family Home

Why we do what we do? Because we love what we do. That makes us committed, and then hosting becomes ingrained like your second nature.

You go and stay with your close friends and you get to experience warmth and hospitality in a beautiful and elegant surroundings - that is what we are aiming for.

We opened our home to hosting almost 20 years back. We’ve made a lot of friends on the way and are proud to say our repeat clientele is huge and is very loyal.

We are a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo who run the Kothi. With very young children, it became difficult to go back to a corporate job and therein lay the genesis of running your own homestay.

We wanted the place to be warm and comfortable with a sense of hygiene you would experience at an A-class property.

Food over the years has become a strength and a plus point, especially for those who are looking for a good home-made meal with vegetables from our farm and fresh bakes and breads.

The Kothi is interspersed with family pictures, furniture, fixtures, antiques, murals which narrate our history and reiterate the strong connection we have to history.

Our ancestors have fought battles and wars, the last being Raja Man Singh who fought against the Japanese in the World War II. The Kothi itself is colonial in architecture and has rooms with french windows overlooking the lawns.

It exemplifies slow living at its best - wake up to the early morning birdsong. A warm, home-made meal awaits you once you get back from your hectic day in the city.

So, come stay with us at Barwara Kothi - the best of the best!
