Our Antecedents
Nestled in the serene, tree-lined lanes of Civil Lines, Jaipur, Barwara Kothi is a lovingly preserved colonial villa inspired by the timeless charm of Lutyens' Delhi. Spread across over 2,000 square yards, this boutique homestay invites guests into a world where old-world elegance lingers in every corner. Family heirlooms, vintage photographs, and treasured antiques adorn the spaces, each quietly narrating stories of a glorious past that continues to live on.
For over 18 years, Barwara Kothi has been lovingly run by a mother and daughter-in-law duo who have transformed it into more than just a place to stay—it’s a home where strangers often leave as friends. Conversations flow effortlessly over freshly brewed coffee and slices of homemade cake, while warm hospitality has brought back generations of returning guests who now consider this their home in Jaipur.
The current owner’s grandfather, Raja Man Singh, served in World War II and shared a close bond with Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur. Displayed on the family wall are handwritten letters exchanged between them, a testimony to their close bond and friendship.
